Moving

Ranma cried for almost a week straight. Kasumi knew that they could no longer stay in Nerima. It would destroy him. It was time to implement her plan. She and Dr. Tofu would take Ranma to a house they had built in a distant village. Unknown to others Tofu was a warlock and also practiced white magic. He and Kasumi had been planning on getting out of Nerima for some time lest somebody find out their secrets. Now they had only to add another to their plan. So that night while Ranma slept Kasumi packed their combined belongings and brought them to Dr. Tofu's office. Then she went home and collected Ranma and met with Tofu at his office. They loaded everything into a moving truck and were out of the city limits well before dawn.
Ranma awoke later that day when he was jolted by a bump in the road. He was stretched across the seat between Tofu and Kasumi with his head snuggled in Kasumi's lap. She was stroking his hair gently as she stared out the window at the passing countryside.
"Where am I?" Ranma asked.
"Good morning sleepy head!" Kasumi said brightly. "We're in a moving truck."
"Yeah but why? Where are we going?" Ranma asked.
"We're moving," Tofu replied as he flashed a smile in Ranma's direction before turning back to the road.
"We're moving to a small town called Masara[1]," Kasumi replied as she helped Ranma sit up. "We have a little cottage on the edge of the Tokiwa Forest[2]."
"You already have a house there? How long have you been planning this?" Ranma asked curiously.
"For quite some time," Kasumi told him. "We figured now was the perfect time to get out of Nerima."
"Perfect timing Kasumi," Ranma murmured as he watched the trees go by.

[1] Pokemon reference. Masara = Pallet Town, Ash and Gary's home town. I sure hope I got that right since I was too lazy to double check!
