This story is dedicated to the one and only Snails from the movie D&D. He didn’t have to die dammit! This is also sort of a mix over of Legends and Dungeons and Dragons. I really hope you enjoy this story.

White snow danced and fell to the grounds. A unicorn walked along the worn, whitening trail swiftly. It’s long, white manes shifted in the cooling wind, as it bent its head down and pressed on all alone. A loud screech set forth through the forest around the trail. The unicorn looked up in fright as a goblin pounced from the woods. It brought its dart gun to its mouth and got ready to shoot the white beast. He blew the pipe-like weapon and the dart came flying towards the creature. A girl suddenly appeared in front of the unicorn and twirled a glaive in her hands. The dart hit a purple field of electricity and fell to the ground. The girl narrowed her eyes as the goblin laughed. The ugly beast ran into the forest, leaving the girl and the unicorn. She turned, snow falling from her hair, to the snow-white creature and smiled as she climbed on its back. Her glaive vanished and a black cloak appeared and wrapped around her shoulders. The hood was pulled up so her face was shadowed.

The unicorn walked forward a little, but stopped as the Yuki Sire appeared in the middle of the trail. Her soft, pink hair caught the white fluff snow, as she watched the girl and horse. She blinked her hard, red eyes as she took a small step forward. Her stride was heavy and graceful at the same time. The unicorn reared back a little, keeping distance between himself and the Yuki Sire. He snorted as she lifted her hand to her face and brushed her bangs out of her eyes. She took a small, white orb out of her sleeves to her garments and placed it in the air above her. The snow stopped all at once, and contracted to the floating sphere. She bowed as she vanished, taking her snowstorm with her.

“Thief! Get back here you good for nothing piece of…”

“RUN! Don’t listen to the Mage, Duo! RUN!” A boy with a long brown braid tore down a long dirt path. A Fairie who sprinted over the rocky terrain followed him. She kept looking behind her to see if the Mage followed, and sure enough she did. She caught up with the thief, but not for too much longer. Even if she was a Fairie, she didn’t have the strength to keep up with the boy. The Mage threw a powerful spell at the Fairie and caught her in an electric shield. Duo slid to a halt and turned around. He grabbed hold of the Fairie’s arm, pulling the small girl after him. She looked no older than two, but seeing since Fairies hardly ever age, she could be well over one hundred years of age.

“Come on Bra! We have to keep going! We have to get this antidote back to Frozen! She can’t live too much longer without it!” Duo picked the little girl up into his arms and took off once again. The Mage appeared in front of him and the Fairie, and grinned as she put her hand into a small bag she carried. She went to blow the dust onto Duo and Bra, but stopped when a Pixie appeared. She laughed as she stole the bag away from the Mage and flew off. The Fairie smiled as she took off flying after the Pixie, heading for the mountains. Duo made a face at the Mage whose blue eyes grew wide. Duo pushed past the blue haired Mage and whistled for an animal to come. A medium sized Dragon swooped down and Duo jumped onto his back. Duo laughed as the Dragon flew towards the mountains where the Pixie and Fairie had retreated.

“Frozen, I’m sorry I had to call you to come save me babe. I got the antidote! I’ll mix it in with your water when we get back to the cave.” Duo patted the Dragon’s back as he leaned forward to escape the lashing wind on his back. He hugged the Dragon’s neck gently and smiled as he was taken through the forest, and above clouds.

A young man with medium purple hair stood on a tree limb. A brunet young man who had cobalt blue eyes accompanied him. The two watched as the Fairie, Pixie, Dragon, and Thief took off for the cave. The two stood, silent for a few moments as the sun began to set in the distance. The boy with the purple hair sighed as he began to float down to the ground. The brunet cast a float spell and joined him down on the lush green grass. The two began to walk towards the cave, keeping mostly to the shadows. They couldn’t let anyone who had obtained a Fairie, Pixie, and Dragon out of their sights. Especially if he was a thief, and he was. A sudden jolt of energy flashed through the skies and a young man landed beside the young man with purple hair. He looked forward at the mountain and closed his eyes.

“The high Pixie Pan and the high Fairie Bra are with the thief. I can not let them stay with him Trunks-kun. Please do understand…” The boy looked down at the ground, letting his black hair fall into his sullen black eyes. Trunks turned to his brunet companion who chuckled slightly. Trunks then turned to the new comer and sighed as he placed an arm around his shoulders. The three stood in silence for a moment, not thinking about what to say or do.

“Goten, the only way I’m letting you take the high Fairie or the high Pixie is if you fight me. And I know you won’t. Please don’t make me have to restrain you Goten. Heero, you and I will go scout the mountain. Goten, you stay here.” Heero chuckled again as Goten’s eyes opened wide. He turned to look into Trunks’ eyes, and to yell at him.

“Nani? Sire, I’m sorry I don’t feel the same way you do about them. But we can’t allow royalty to run around freely like that.” Goten watched as Trunks chuckled. Heero walked a little further on, trying to not look at the two who were arguing. Trunks wrapped an arm around Goten’s waist and smiled.

“Oh, you mean, it’s not right for me to run around? That I should be locked up in the castle? That, I shouldn’t be allowed to consort with people like you m’dearest Goten?” Trunks slightly laughed as Goten squirmed under his grasp. He let the younger one go, watching as he turned around to face the dirt path. Trunks raised an eyebrow and turned to say something to Heero, when Goten finally spoke.

“No I do not mean that Sire. I am simply saying that I was paid to bring them back to their kingdoms. They have been missing for some time now. And it is probably best if you didn’t consort with me Sire, your father would be happier.” Goten began to walk off, but the sound of a horse neighing made him stop. He watched as a unicorn slowly galloped down the trail. A form was hunched over on its back, probably asleep. Goten blinked a few times as the white, horned horse came closer. He turned to say something to Trunks, but didn’t need to. Trunks walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder. The horse stopped when it saw them, and took a step back. The person on it’s back sat up, and moved the hood back. The girl smiled as she dismounted and guided the horse over to the two. Heero had shimmied up the tree and smiled as he watched the girl. She came to an abrupt halt when she saw Heero in the trees.

“I am Hotaru, guardian of this unicorn. I am looking for the thief Duo. He is said to live near here. Do any of you know of this boy?” Hotaru drew the cloak shut at her chest. Goten shook his head yes and pointed in the direction of the cave. Hotaru looked at the cave and smiled as she mounted the horse. She lightly tapped the horse’s sides with her heels, and the horse followed through with the command. She looked to Goten and smiled as she held her hand out to him.

“I’m sorry ma’am. I can’t accept the ride. My Sire has ordered me to stay here. I am not allowed to get too close to the cave. If you wish to take any of us, please take my Sire.” Goten watched as the girl’s face changed. She shook her head no and started out again. Trunks smirked as he walked over to the tree where Heero was. He floated up into the sky, and then looked down to Goten. Heero cast a flying spell, and floated up into the sky. He looked down at Goten as well, and then turned to Trunks.

“Sire, he will get in the way. The love you hold for him will simply get in the way of the mission.”

“Heero, you think that way because you have not yet found your love. He will not be in the way. He will make me want to keep going. It is for him I go on this mission. So he will be able to stop living in this hell.” Trunks smiled as he descended to the ground. He landed in front of Goten and smiled as he held his hand out to him.

“Do come my lovely Goten. I can’t very well leave you alone down here. Your father and mine would have my head on a platter. Now wouldn’t they love?” Goten looked quizzically to him and blinked. Goten finally put his hand in Trunks’, to be pulled up into the sky. Trunks laughed as he pulled Goten up close to his body. Goten powered up, reminding Trunks that he could fly as well.

“Sire, I can take care of myself. No need to treat me as if you were afraid I’d get hurt.” Trunks sighed as he let Goten go. The younger boy shot off ahead of him, to catch up with Heero. Trunks ran his hands through his hair and took off after the boy.

Hotaru looked up at the three in the sky. She closed her eyes as wings burst from the unicorn’s back. The unicorn took off into the sky, following the streams of energy the three boys left behind them. She smiled as they neared the cave where Duo was staying. She could feel the energy of the Dragon, Fairie, and Pixie. In no time, the unicorn landed in the mouth of the cave, right after the guys had. Goten watched as the wings of the unicorn vanished. He smiled slightly as he held his hand out to her.

“My name is Goten Son. It’s nice to meet you Miss Hotaru.” Hotaru grinned as she put her hand in Goten’s. They shook hands, a little too long in Trunks’ opinion. Trunks crossed his arms over his chest as he watched Hotaru and Goten exchange little glances and short laughs. Heero stood beside Trunks and chuckled slightly. Trunks glared at him as he cleared his throat.

“Goten, if you are done gawking, we must be going. Now come on love.” Goten bowed to Hotaru and walked over to Trunks. Heero looked back to Hotaru who now stood with a glaive in her hand. She wore an altered sailor fuku, with a tiara. She walked forward, and narrowed her eyes as she noticed Heero’s eyes on her. She stood beside Goten and closed her eyes. The unicorn followed into the cave. There were a few laughs, and little talking inside the cave. They heard small feet running towards them, and then a small girl entered the room. She looked no older than three; she had short black hair, black eyes, and had thin multicolored wings. Her eyes grew wide as she took a step back. Another pair of feet came down the hall, and as soon as the little girl entered, she stopped. She had long teal hair, blue eyes, and small multicolored wings too. The two stood before the larger group, and then they screamed.

“Pan! Bra!” Duo came running into the room, a worried look on his face. He saw the four standing in the mouth of the cave, and let his eyes grow wide. Pan and Bra flew behind him, and peeked around him. He backed up a little and looked at the four a little worried.

“Hello, my name is Hotaru Tomoe. I have come from very far away seeking you. I have vital information regarding your future. I wish to talk to you in private, but I can tell that will not be permitted due thanks to Goten and Heero’s Sire Trunks.” Hotaru watched as Duo looked at the other males. His eyes lingered on Goten for a moment, but an icy stare from Trunks made him avert his gaze to Heero. He blinked twice as he found himself being circled by Heero. Goten then joined in, only to be pulled back by a semi-angry Trunks. Goten looked at the Prince strangely as he pulled him back over to him. ‘Damn, you’d think we were a couple or something! With the way he’s acting and everything…’ Goten sighed as he finally gave up, and did exactly as Trunks wished for him to. He stayed by his side, and allowed the slightly elder to keep one arm wrapped around his shoulders.

“I’ll show you to the main chambers… I’d like to talk to you,” Duo smiled as he bowed before the other four, “by the by, my name is Duo Maxwell. I may run and hide but I’ll never tell a lie. I’m Shinigami…Death…”

The blue haired Mage walked into the main chambers with a stern look on her face. She picked a small bag of sand up and took some into her slender hands. She blew it on a crystal ball and the faces of Heero, Trunks, Goten, Duo, Pan, Bra, and Hotaru appeared. She watched as introductions were made, and the four settled into the cave. She began to wring her hands as she saw the happy looks on their faces. She began to brood over the seemingly adorable image when the door opened and a black cloaked figure walked in. The Mage watched as the cloaked figure picked the crystal ball up ad smashed it against the floor. The Mage, in a fit of anger, pulled the hood back off the cloak, revealing a petite young lady underneath. She had sandy blond hair, and soft blue eyes. The blue haired Mage gasped as she dropped down to one knee. She crossed one arm over her chest and stayed down. The cloaked figure sighed as she motioned for the Mage to stand.

“It seems I can not even make a Mage hurt me. Am I that valuable to the world? My brother does not think it. He thinks he should be the ruler and not I. Please, Hilde, tell me if I deserve my title as Queen.” The Queen looked pleadingly into Hilde’s eyes. Hilde saw the innocence buried deep in her eyes and had to turn cheek to her. She couldn’t stand to look in to the hurt eyes of her Queen. She solemnly nodded her head yes, causing her Queen to stare at her strangely. The young Queen shook her head and raised her hand to smack the Mage across the face. The door opened, and a slightly laughing person walked in. He had long, platinum blond hair, and the same, crisp blue eyes as the Queen.

“Relena… You dare to raise a hand to one of my Mages? You may be the queen of this area, but you do not rule over the Mages. That is my job. However, soon I will rule over everything. And soon I will hold the world in the palm of my hand. So give in my dearest sister. Give up your pathetic battle against me.” Queen Relena looked at her brother with hate beyond hate. She took a deep breath and straightened out so she stood tall and proud. She closed her eyes briefly and opened them to glare daggers towards her elder brother. She bowed briskly and went to walk away. He grabbed her wrist, making her look down in disgust. She then looked up into his stony eyes.

“I hate to love you, as I love to hate you.” She shoved past her elder brother, and went to her quarters where she knew she could be alone. She opened the door and clapped her hands. A secret door opened and an Elf walked in. His blond hair was brushed back, revealing his adorable elfling ears. His cool blue eyes were liquid and languid like water. He swiftly bowed to Relena as he sat down at the only table in the room. Relena sat across from him and smiled as she took a sip of the tea sitting at her seat.

“Did you find out what you searched for malady?” The elf smiled as he clasped his hands together, and opened them slowly revealing a desert rose. Relena smiled sweetly as she took it from his hands, and pinned her hair behind her right ear with it. She shook her head no, and the Elf sighed as he stood up. He positioned his arms and hands as if to play a violin and so one did appear. He began to play a slow, dark song that captivated the soul. His playing exceeded that of the minor God Pan’s, and rivaled that of Apollo’s.  Relena smiled as she stood from the table and walked over to her bed. She crawled in; pulling her long skirts after, and curled under the down quilts.

****

“Everything has been set in motion. All we wait for now is for the unity. Their paths have been laid before them. It is now their choice as to which to take.” An Angel with beautiful white wings looked down at Earth. He turned his gaze to the Dragon God who meditated, floating merely inches from the ground. The Angel smiled as he turned his black eyes back towards the Earth. The King of the grand city Vegeta-sei readied for the return of his son and his guests. The lover of the king hurriedly prepared for his son, the spitting image of him, to arrive home. The boy sighed as he floated over to the Dragon God.

“Yes Gohan?” The Dragon God opened one of his eyes and peered at the young boy. The Angel raised an eyebrow as his black locks shot golden. The Dragon God sported a smile, as he seemed to vanish from sight. Gohan gasped as he felt the God’s arm wrap around his waist. The Angel turned in his grasp and smiled into the other’s eyes.

“Wanna spar for a while Mr. Piccolo?”

“Are you still stuck on calling me that?”

                “I’ll always call you that….”
